My name is Michel Robichaud. I was born in Montreal, Province of Quebec, Canada. I started working at age 17 as a government agent for 33 years so I did not have many opportunities to travel during those years except for a few trips to the south like many of my contemporaries. I am now retired for several years. My current life revolves around my friends, my cat and occasional trips.
My first big trip was made in 1979 in Greece, I was already 34 years old. I still remember it like it was yesterday. Subsequently, it took 14 years before my big adventure of three months in Asia. I was a new backpacker with his backpack. During this trip, I developed a passion for Asia and the idea of going to live there began to germinate.
An early retirement in 1995 opened up a greater opportunity to travel and two years later, in 1997, I returned to Asia for a five-month trip. In 2001, new departure for Asia for a trip that lasted 8 months. Finally, in October 2003, after selling some of my property in Quebec, I moved to Thailand. The idea that had sprung up during my trip to Asia in 1993 had done its job.
I lived in Bangkok for over 11 years until June 2015 when I returned to Montreal.
I maintain this site for my personal pleasure and I change it regularly to pass the time and keep fit mentally.
